My Bio

I am a Canadian writer on the verge of publishing an anthology of sci-fi and fantasy short stories, and a trilogy sci-fi novel.

A big fan of Tolkien, Asimov, and Doctor Who, I try to make my stories as hopeful and light as possible, with always a spot of light shining through the growing darkness. I believe the world needs to hope again, and I hope I can help spread those naive and foolish hopes and dreams of mine.

Beside being a writer, I am also slowly learning photo-manipulation.

So I know DeviantArt has started to lose a bit of its members, I've recently noticed a lot of my old friends (such as @Battlefairies) are no longer on DA; so I've decided to list here all the social accounts via which you can reach me (by order of activity, hihi)! Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61555684388669 Twitter: https://twitter.com/MelRiversArt Official website: https://melodierivers.weebly.com RoyalRoad: https://royalroad.com/profile/130900/fictions… YouTube: https://youtube.com/@melodierivers9457/featured… FictionPress: https://fictionpress.com/u/1132666/ Some of these are pretty old and I have to update them, but at least you now know where to reach me if ever you or I decides to leave DeviantArt. Hello ladies and gentlemans and variations thereupon! It is after a long time of thinking that I decided to, after all, publish my book The Shadow Paradigm Book 1: Project Orb Weaver as both a free and a paying book. I at first hesitated to professionally publish my book as paying, because I felt I should get it professionally edited first. But after long discussions with my friends, we came to the conclusion that many past authors did not go through editors, and still published books that have stood up through time. And the reason why? Because those books absolutely feel like a normal person wrote them, and not some university alumni which are set to write and read the same way through the courses, synthetic and surgical. I mean, did any of you read C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia? Those first 4-5 books are technically horrible from an editor's point of view... but they are undeniably written by C.S. Lewis. The Jack Reacher book series, especially One Shot, is heavily
